Demonstrate the use of Desktop Background as well as working with folders
A desktop is the area of a computer screen where icons and windows appear, representing the items on a physical desk. On the desktop, a computer user can perform several activities like; launching of apps, opening folders, files etc.
The context menu/desktop pop-up menu is a small window of options that appears on the desktop when a user right-clicks any empty space.
Using the context menu, you can easily copy, cut, paste and move folders from the desktop to other locations on your PC.
1. Copying a Folder/File
Copying a folder is the process of duplicating the original folder. To copy;
- Right-click on the folder you want to copy
- From the context menu, select Copy
- Navigate to the location you want to paste the folder.
- Right-click in the desired location and select Paste
Cutting a folder moves the folder from its original location to a new location. It is the same as moving a folder. To Cut/move a folder;
- Right-click on the folder/file you want to move
- From the context menu, select Cut
- Navigate to the destination you want to move the folder
- Right click in the new location and select Paste
